My name is Olawunmi and I'm the Owner and Creative Wig Stylist at Perfect Perucas, an e -commerce store operating out of Calgary, Alberta.

My Personal Journey:

The journey to being a Wig Stylist started 12 years ago when I was a busy 9-5er in the Financial industry. I had a busy schedule and quickly realized that the amount of time and money spent meeting the bi-weekly salon appointments did not work for my busy lifestyle and i needed a solution real quick. (sew-ins lasted only a couple of weeks at best).

At first, I tried synthetic wigs but they were a disaster. The hair quality was poor, cap didn't quite fit and it had an overall weight look to it that made me super uncomfortable wearing it in public. I did a little research, sourced human hair and created a few wig pieces for myself. It took a few weeks before my colleagues knew I was wearing a wig and at that point, everyone wanted to know where I'd gotten it from as it looked so natural and i could change my wigs to match any occassion. Well, let's just say I resigned and went full time into creating wigs.
